Ethnic Group: If you write about an Ethnic Group, select one, identify the region of the world from which it comes, and then write about it. Use the PowerPoint and videos to help you hone your understanding of the concept of an ‘ethnic group’.
Here are some questions you may want to address in your essay. (They are jump-starters. You may have a very specific point you want to discuss instead): Tell us why you selected the particular ethnic group. What is it that drew you to it? Are you a member of this group? What makes this ethnic group special and unique? Is it an ancient group? Are there ceremonies or rituals or other special characteristics that define this group?
Use the Internet to find sources about the group you choose to write about. Include any links. Always watch your sources. Make sure your sources are legitimate sites. Usually sites that are .org, or .edu, or .gov sites are the most trustworthy. Mainstream newspapers and journals also qualify as legitimate sites. Be cautious of .com sites, since those could be from anywhere.
