I’m meant to respond to a course unit through a personal reflection on the challenges and benefits of collaborative work (1350-1500 words). This piece of writing takes on a personal tone just like the reflective report. It can be more on the general side, though I’d prefer having the report relate to the arts and culture sector. Here are a couple of pointers – may be useful. o What way we’re consuming things and how that could translate into group work i.e. Ways of Seeing – Berger o Forms of curatorial research o Collective research – conceptual & practical o Start point? – How, with who, context; frameworks and games – What to bring with us: already existing interests; what does the workload look like? what do we discuss? o What inspires us and shapes our thinking? – Darwin “But I am very poorly today and very stupid and hate everybody and everything” – Unread books on shelf; conflict of time and potential for inspiration – Deleuze on Proust; trying to find the essence of things – Metamodernism – Film – pedagogical practice which differs from traditional educational practice; no need for a teacher to input information into our minds; we can watch film and match what we see to previous knowledge and personal experience and educate ourselves o The Location of Culture – Honi Bhabha
